After a small laundry room you come to a large vestibule equipped
as a comfortable library. Beyond the library is a large living
room that leads directly onto the large rooftop terrace. It is
magic to sit there in the evening, an oasis of tranquility above
the streets. The terrace looks over the canal tile roof tops of
the bastide and the spires of the Cathedrale Saint-Michel, yet
is private.
At the east end of the apartment are the three bedrooms and the
two bathrooms. There is a bath, a power shower and great wardrobe
space. All the windows are double glazed. There is air conditioning
and electrically controlled blinds and shutters. The whole apartment
is very light and well equipped. It also looks onto the terrace.
In the winter the people of Carcassonne regularly take to the
nearby slopes and historical, archaeological and wine destinations
are within easy reach. Toulouse and Barcelona are also popular
destinations. Watersports, bird watching, hiking and Orchids are
all nearby.

There is parking both metered and free, within the bastide itself.
The apartment is two short blocks away from the boulevard where
there is a lot of parking available. It costs 2.50 Euros per day
with a pay and display system (free between six in the evening and
9am and weekends).
The boulevard that surrounds the Bastide is one-way (sens unique)
- anticlockwise. The part of the Boulevard most convenient for
the penthouse is on the Boulevard Barbès, just on the left
after Place General de Gaul and just before the Dôme, where
the Boulevard turns to the left and becomes Boulevard Camille
